Four emerging markets where Genable™ graphene-enabled technology is delivering real performance gains — with active commercial programs and a growing pipeline.
About These Markets
Beyond concrete and asphalt, Genable™ graphene-enabled solutions are actively being developed and commercialized across Paints & Coatings, Rubber & Tires, Composites, and Lubricants. Each market represents a distinct opportunity to improve performance, extend lifecycle, and reduce environmental impact — without changing existing processes.
01 · Paints & Coatings
Graphene dispersions that enhance barrier, corrosion, mechanical, and conductivity performance in industrial paints and coatings – without changing existing formulation systems.

Drop-in to new and existing coating formulations
How it works
Graphene nanoplatelets and graphitized carbon dispersions — safe, easy, powerful.
The result: significant performance enhancements across mechanical, barrier, thermal, and electrical conductivity properties in both new and existing paints and coatings systems.
Anti-Corrosion
Extends the life of industrial coatings as a complementary additive. Excellent results as a stand-alone inhibitor or in synergy with existing corrosion protection systems.
Barrier Coatings
Platelet structure creates a tortuous diffusion path for gas and moisture molecules, extending barrier performance. Graphene’s molecular structure is inherently impermeable to most gases and liquids.
Mechanical Enhancement
Interactions with the resin enable increased tensile properties, toughness, abrasion resistance, and scratch resistance in finished paints.
Chemical Resistance
Comprehensive data shows less blistering, improved gloss retention, and greater Shore hardness when graphene is incorporated into high-performance coatings.
Conductivity
2D graphene nanoplatelets enable thermally conductive materials that dissipate heat build-up and facilitate rapid heat transfer from critical components.
Car Care
Large surface area, barrier performance, low density, and mechanical strength make Genable™ nanoplatelets ideal for superior waxes, polishes, and detailing products.

02 · rubber & tires
Breaking the magic triangle trade-off – improving all three key tire performance characteristics simultaneously, using graphene derived from waste tire carbon.
~20–40%
Reduction in abrasion losses — fewer micro-plastic emissions
~10%
Fuel economy improvement via reduced rolling resistance
1.47B
Tires produced globally per year — massive addressable market
6 mt
Tire wear micro-plastics entering the environment annually
The magic triangle challenge
Tire performance is a three-way trade-off. Genable™ Rubber addresses all three corners at once.
Every tire compound designer works within the “magic triangle”: Wear Resistance, Rolling Resistance (fuel efficiency), and Wet Traction. Improving one typically degrades another. Graphene’s unique combination of mechanical strength, thermal conductivity, and surface chemistry allows Genable™ Rubber to improve all three simultaneously — a genuine paradigm shift.
Additionally, carbon from used tires can become a carbon feedstock for the Flash Joule Heating process — creating a true circular economy: waste tires in, high-performance graphene out, re-incorporated into new tires.
Key benefits
- Reduce abrasion losses by 20–40% — enables reduction in airborne micro-contaminants
- Reduce rolling resistance and improve fuel economy ~10% — without losses in traction
- Improve modulus, tear strength, and heat dissipation
- No negative impact on wet/dry traction or other mechanical performance characteristics
- Benefits delivered using graphene derived from waste tire carbon — circular economy
- Applicable across diverse applications:
Tires
Hoses
Belts
gaskets
seals
Footwear
Floor Mats
EV Tailwind
EVs weigh 22–35% more than ICE counterparts, accelerating tire wear significantly. This makes improved abrasion resistance not just a performance benefit — it’s becoming a market requirement as EV adoption scales.

03 · lubricants
Graphene-enhanced lubricants for automotive and specialty applications — leveraging graphene’s unique thermal conductivity and friction-reduction properties.
How graphene improves lubrication
Graphene's makes a natural high-performance lubricant additive.
Graphene’s flat, layered structure allows sheets to slide over each other with minimal friction — making it one of the most effective solid lubricant materials known. When incorporated into oils and lubricant formulations as a Genable™ dispersion, these properties translate into measurable reductions in friction, heat generation, and component wear.
